Baseball Trivia (General) - double steal attempt

Question
SCORING QUESTION:   Runners at first and third with two outs.  Runner at first has NO wheels but takes off to intentionally get into a rundown, allowing the man to score from third.  Worked to perfection---not even a throw home as runner scored standing up well before other guy was tagged out for third out.   STOLEN BASE? I say yes.    Official scorer said no.    Runner at 3B didn't break for home until catcher threw to 2B.  What say you?

Answer
I love questions like these. Kinda reminds you of how in-depth this game can be. I would say that it is not a stolen base. It is an attempt however, if I can understand your question, if the runner got to home due to the runner at 1st then it would not be a stolen base. I am not sure of the ruling on this but I am not sure I understand the question 100%. If you wanna write my e-mail and we can talk about this further. let me know thru allexperts and I would gladly help you figure this out with complete accuracy.

Matt.
