I`m not interested in personal off-the-field stuff like spouses, girl friends, drug habits, salaries, mascots, etc. If you already know the answer to the question, please don't ask it. I don't want to play "stump the expert."

Question I believe it was a phillie player who hit a grand slam and ran past the player on first base and was only credited with a single can you name him or them.
Answer Michael,
There have been four instances of a "grand slam single" that I've found, one of them by a Phillie:
--July 9, 1970: Dalton Jones of the Detroit Tigers loses a grand slam in the bottom of the 7th against the Boston Red Sox when he passes teammate Don Wert on the base paths.
--July 4, 1976: Tim McCarver of the Phillies passed Garry Maddox on the way to second base after a grand slam in the 2nd inning against Pittsburgh.
--May 15, 1982: Lee Lacy of the Pirates passed teammate Omar Moreno just past first base in the bottom of the 8th in a game against Cincinnati. It would have been his first career grand slam.
--October 17, 1999: Robin Ventura of the NY Mets was mobbed by teammates between 1st & 2nd base after he cranked one over the wall with the bases full in the bottom of the 15th inning of the 5th game against Atlanta in the 1999 NLCS. Ventura never reached or touched 2nd base, so the scorer awarded him a single.
