Baseball Trivia (General)/Consecutive HBP Record, Pitcher

Question
Hello Mr Schott:  On Aug. 21, 2004 Jeff Weaver hit three CONSECUTIVE batters. Is this a record?  Thanks!

Answer
Murray,

Pitchers have hit three batters in an inning on numerous occasions. Unfortunately, the listing I have does not tell us whether these were consecutive. We can assume that they were on some of these occasions. So, Jeff Weaver does indeed hold a record for this . . . but probably with some other guys.
