First recorded triple play in baseball history was on:

5/13/1876 --  National League
New York Mutuals  at  Hartford Dark Blues    

Bottom of the 5th inning. Bases loaded. The play went 4-3-4 & the New York players involved were: Bill Craver, 2d base, & Joe Start, 1st base.
