AboutTom Schott Expertise I will deal with the major leagues only from 19th century to present. I`m good on baseball history, records, statistics, ballparks. I don't do off-the-field stuff. Please if you already know the answer to the question, please don't ask it. I don't want to play "stump the expert."
Experience I've written on the subject, and I have substantial library of resources.
Organizations SABR
Publications Numerous encyclopedia, newspaper, magazine articles. One book, several book chapters.
Question Most pitching wins, one ballpark. Actually I was looking for most victories in the major parks, Yankee, Fenway, Wrigley, etc. but its been hard to find.
Answer Rick,
I'm sorry but my data can only give us the answer for home-away splits for pitchers since 1954. So for the period 1954-2008, here are the guys:
Tiger Stadium Mickey Lolich 116*
Fenway Roger Clemens 100
Yankee Stadium Whitey Ford 109**
Wrigley Fergie Jenkins 95***
*Other possibilities: Hooks Dauss, Hal Newhouser, George Mullin
**Red Ruffing is a strong possibility to exceed Ford
***Charlie Root is possible
