I would like to know what was the % of left handed hitters in MLB in season 2009.
Hi Trevor,
In 2009, 28.5 percent of MLB hitters batted left-handed. (62.1 percent right, 9.3 percent switch).
Just for comparison sake, for all of MLB history since 1901, 27.7 percent batted left-handed. (65.6 percent right, 6.7 percent switch).
