Baseball Trivia (General)/Trying to find a specific game
Expert: Tom Schott - 7/8/2010
QuestionMy friend's dad recently told me he was at a game in which home plate was stolen, an inside-the-park home run was hit, and a triple play was turned. I am trying to find this game via baseball-reference/baseball-almanac but cannot seem to find it. He is a Brewers fan so I was guessing it was a Brewers home game, but I can't confirm this. Regardless, has this ever happened in the same game in major league history? Or is he making things up?
AnswerWell, Ryan, how about a game where we go 2 for 3?
On May 19, 2010, there was a game between the NY Mets and the Washington Nationals in which there was a triple play and an inside the park home run. But no steal of home. My guess is this is what your friend's dad is thinking of.

There was also a game on September 25, 1955 between the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Giants with an inside the park home run and a triple play plus steal of third base (by Willie Mays). It was, oddly enough, the last game of the season.

If indeed there was a game with a TP, ITP home run, and a steal of home, it would take me way too long to find it.
Hope this helps.
