Baseball Trivia (General)/No Grand Slam HRs, Season, Team

Question
Has a team ever gone a whole season without a grand slam?

Answer
Hi Mike,

A lot of teams did this, a lot. There were at least 2 teams, and usually several teams, that had no grand slams from 1901 to 1934. In 1935, only one team, the Phillies, had no grand slams. Only one team, Washington Senators, had none in 1937; only one team, Phillies, 1938. 1940 was the first year that every major league team had at least a single grand slam homer. But it is a lot more common that a team or teams fails to hit a grand slam homer during the year than that every team has at least one. Even during the heart of the steroid era, for example, in 1994, neither the Braves nor the Cubs had a grand slam.
