Baseball Trivia (General)/Rules clarification

Question
This very well might be a simple question - but I've looked and I can't seem to find the answer.  Here's the situation:

Two outs, and the runner on first attempts a steal - and is thrown out.  What happens with the batter? Do they bat again first the next inning? How is that recorded -  it's not a full at bat?

Thank You!

Answer
Hi Becky,

The batter is up the next inning. As for recording, whatever happened during the at bat in which the runner got thrown out at second does not count at all. It's treated like it never happened. The only thing this situation does affect, however, is the pitcher's pitch count. The pitches he made to the batter before the final out of the inning can't be erased, of course.
