Question
Hi There,
My husband and I were watching the A's - Mariners game on Friday and missed the answer to the AFLAC trivia question, and it has been driving us crazy since....any help would be appreciated...
The question was which 3 American League players hit over 30 homeruns but had a batting average of 215 or less??
Thanks for your help!

Answer
Hi Jenn,

Thanks for your kind words.

Ron Kittle 1984 White Sox 32 home runs, batted .215!!

I checked a lot of possible candidates (guys who hit lots of home runs but had some very low batting average seasons) - Steve, Balboni, Rob Deer, Jose Canseco, Mark McGwire, etc, etc. - for the 30 home runs, .215 batting average, before finally stumbling upon Ron Kittle.

Canseco hit at least 30 home runs 8 times.  His lowest average was .237 in 1998.

Best Wishes,

Geoff
