Question WITH 1 OUT, RUNNERS ON 2ND AND THIRD, AND THE BATTER HITS A LONG BALL TO DEEP LEFT AND IT IS CAUGHT,THE RUNNER ON THIRD TAGS AND SCORES, BUT THE RUNNER ON 2ND FORGETS TO TAG AND THEY GET HIM OUT BACK AT 2ND - BUT ONLY AFTER THE RUN HAS SCORED.... DOES THIS RUN COUNT?
ALSO., ARE THE HANDS PART OF THE BAT - IF YOU GET HIT ON YOUR HANDS WITHOUT SWINGING , IS THIS A HIT BY PITCH OR A STRIKE? AND LAST
WITH A RUNNER ON THIRD, BATTER HAS A 2 AND 1 COUNT ON HIM AND THE NEXT PITCH HE SWINGS AND MISSES AND THE CATCHER DROPS THE BALL... THE BATTER THINKING HE DROPPED THIS ON THE 3RD STRIKE, TAKES OFF TO FIRST AND THE CATCHER THROWS IT DOWN... HOWEVER, THE RUNNER ON THIRD RUNS HOME AND SCORES... THE BATTER HAS TO GO BACK AND COMPLETE HIS TURN AT BACK - BUT, DOES THAT RUN COUNT AND SCORE?
Answer If the run scores before the third out is made, the run count. The only exceptions are for a force out on a ground ball or a fly out for the third out.
The hands are not part of the bat. If the batter is hit on the hand but does not swing, it is a hit-by-pitch.
