Is it true that The Yankees are the only team with a better winning record going into The World Series to lose to 2 wild card teams(2001 & 2003)?

Answer
The Yankees lost to the wild-card MARLINS in 2003, but their loss in 2001 to the DIAMONDBACKS was NOT to a wild-card team.  Arizona finished FIRST in the West that year and was not a wild card team.

Other wild card Series winners were:

'97: Marlins over the Indians
'02: Angels over the Giants

So no team has ever lost the Series TWICE to a wild card team.
