Question Hi, i'm from England i'm 56 years of age and about the end of the 1950 my father aquired this bat which i have just discovered is a 1951-7 McLaughlin-Millard bat with Bob Eliotts name on it. I also found out he is in the hall of fame. I have prized this bat for many years, would it be possable for you to value it for me please. It has sentimental value but its an antique now so could you advise please.
Many thanks
Answer Hi Trevor,
Thanks for writing.
Bob Elliott is not in the Baseball Hall of Fame. He had a fine career but not quite that good. He is in the BaseballEvolution.com Hall of Fame who sponsor his page:
but the BaseballEvolution.com Hall of Fame has no official standing of any sort.
I checked on ebay for the type of bat you are describing. I couldn't find one for Bob Elliott but similar ones seem to be worth only in the $20-$25 range.
Here's a website with some information about McLaughlin-Millard bats.
