Baseball Trivia (General) - Baseball opening day

Expert: Geoff - 4/14/2007

Question
Which baseball team(s) on opening day was cancelled in a Northeastern city because of snow and wintry weather?

Answer
Hi Patricia,

Thanks for writing.

I'm not exactly sure I understand your question.  If you are talking about the 2007 season, every team played their scheduled first game of the season on the right day (either April 1, 2, or 3).

The first game of the season that had to be postponed was an April 4th rain out at Yankee Stadium between New York and Tampa Bay, but these same two teams had played on Opening Day April 2nd at Yankee Stadium.

If you mean what northeastern teams have ever had a rainout/ snowout on Opening Day any year in Major League history... well, that would be a much, much more difficult question to research.

Best Wishes,

Geoff
