Baseball Trivia (General)/Catch off of pitcher's mound

Question
If a batter hits a ball off of the pitcher's mound and is caught before it hits the ground, is it an out?

Answer
Howdy- Nope, the pitcher would have to throw the batter out- the mound counts as the ground, as do the bases and rosin bag.  An anomaly: If a ball hits the rubber and rebounds into foul territory, it is a foul ball, if it was not touched by a fielder.
