Baseball Trivia (General) - Disabled List

Expert: Geoff - 4/17/2007

Question
Hello

I recently read that Reggie Sanders has made 17 seperate trips onto the D.L. in his career. I was wondering if this was a record and if not, who has made the most trips onto the D.L. in a Major League career?

Thanks
Jack

Answer
Hi Jack,

Thanks for writing.

There are only Major League "Records" for certain statistics within baseball.  For instance, there is no "Record" for most times grounding out to the 2nd baseman in a season, but there is a record for most times striking out in a season.

Times on the "Disabled List" is not an Official Statistic tracked for record keeping purposes.

Best Wishes,

Geoff
