Howdy- I believe that the post-1900 record is 23 (!), by the Phillies, 25 August, 1922 (the Cubs scored 26 in this wild game).
The most I am aware of in the A.L. (and there may have been more scored in another game), so don't take this as cast in stone) is 17 by Cleveland, 10 July, 1932.  This is the game where Eddie Rommel "pitched" 17 innings (!) in relief to gain his 171st (and final) major league win.  He allowed 29 hits!
