Hi!! My husbands partner ( he is a Dallas Police Detective) is a HUGE Dodgers fan and my hisband always is trying to stump him...so far no luck........Any REALLY tough questions and answers you could give me would help!!!!!! Tahnk you!! Dee
Answer -
Dee, I was a BROOKLYN Dodgers fan -- not the LOS ANGELES Dodgers. In fact, once Sandy Koufax retired, I stopped following the LA team altogether.
So if you need some tough questions about the old Brooklyn Dodgers, or the LA Dodgers from '58-'66, I'm your expert. Otherwise, I'm afraid I can't help.
AnswerOk, we'll start with some easy ones:
1. Which Brooklyn player made his debut along with Jackie Robinson on April 15, 1947?
2. Which Giants pitcher hit Carl Furillo on the wrist in '53, setting off a melee that resulted in Carl also breaking a finger on his left hand?
3. In the final game of the '50 season,Which Dodger hit the single to center on which Cal Abrams, trying to score from second, was thrown out at the plate?
BONUS: Who was the 3rd-base coach for Brooklyn who was blamed for that play, which cost the Dodgers a chance to tie for the pennant?
4. In Game 4 of the '47 Series, with two men on and the Dodgers trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th, Cookie Lavagetto broke up Bill Bevens's no hitter with a double that scored both runners. Who scored the tying run? Who scored the winning run?
