Baseball Trivia (General)/Same RBI total in the past three years

Question
Geoff,

Tom can't answer my question, can you?

A friend told me yesterday he heard somewhere that a player had the same RBI total in the past three years and had the same total at his time, this year.

I searched but I haven't found yet.

Do you have any idea of who's this player?

Maybe he played more games this year or he's hitting better than before.

Thank's!

Answer
Hi Marco,

Thanks for writing.

I suspect your friend has asked you more of a riddle than he has a baseball trivia question.

There are hundreds of players who have accomplished what you describe.  Pick almost any American League relief pitcher - Mike Timlin for instance - and you will find a player who has had the same number of RBIs in each of the past three seasons and has the same amount this season: namely 0 RBIs.

Hope this helps.

Best Wishes,

Geoff
