In fact there were two players who were teammates of both Ruth and Williams:

--Johnny Murphy, a pitcher who with with Ruth on the 1932 Yankees and Williams on the 1947 Red Sox

--Joe Glenn, a backup catcher with Ruth on the 1932 Yankees and Williams on the 1940 Red Sox.
