Baseball Trivia (General) - consecutive shutout losses by team

Expert: Geoff - 6/23/2007

Question
What is the record for most consecutive shutout losses by a MLB team?

Answer
Hi Todd,

Thanks for writing.

The record for most consecutive shut-out losses is 4.  It's happened 11 times in MLB history most recently by the 1968 Chicago Cubs.

The 2007 Braves just missed tying the record by scoring a run today after three straight shut-outs.

The record for being shut-out in the most consecutive innings is 48 set by the 1906 Philadelphia A's and matched by those 1968 Cubs.

Best Wishes,

Geoff
