Baseball Trivia (General) - most consecutive team home runs

Expert: Geoff - 4/23/2007

Question
what is the most home runs hit consecutively by a team (ie. the red sox hit 4 in a row tonight)?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Kim,

Thanks for writing.

The Red Sox tied the record for most consecutive home runs in an inning with 4.  It had been done three time before.

Yankee pitcher Chase Wright tied Paul Foytack's record by becoming only the second pitcher to ever give up 4 consecutive home runs.

The record for most home runs in an inning (not consecutive) is 5.  This has been achieved 4 times as well.

Best Wishes,

Geoff
