Sandy Koufax had a 17-2 career record against the New York Mets. His two losses came on 8/26/65 and 8/30/66. Although Mets pitcher Tug McGraw was the starting pitcher in each of these games that Koufax lost, McGraw was only the winning pitcher in the 8/26/65 game. Mets pitcher Bob Friend got credit for the win in relief of Tug McGraw in the 8/30/66 game.
