Question
The Dodgers had a brooklyn born player named Tommy Brown on their roster during the 40's and 50's and I have heard that wasn't his real name. If true, what was his real name. I believe he stayed with the Dodgers about 10 years despite being very mediocre.

Answer
Brown, who was the youngest player ever to make the Major Leagues (he was 16), and the youngest ever to hit a home run (he was 17), played for the Dodgers from 1944 until 1951, when he was traded to the Phillies.

He finished his 9-year career with the Cubs in 1953, when he was still only 25.

He was a weak hitter, but he still managed to hit 3 hme runs in a game in 1950.
