Thanks for writing.

I know of no time when a single baseball was used for an entire major league game.  Umpires throw balls out of games all the time when they get dirty.  Foul balls go into the stands or are retrieved by ballboys and a new ball is put in play.

Umpires prepare 6 dozen baseballs to be used before each major league game.
