Question
has any team ever won the world series after losing the first three games?

 It's never happened in the World Series, and it's only happened one time in all of post-season play. In 2004, the Red Sox were down three games to none in the ALCS, and they won 4 straight to win a berth in the World Series, where they went on to sweep the St Louis Cardinals in four games.
