Question
A & B complete there work together in 5 days if A works twice of his speed & B
at half of his speed this work can finished in 4 days. How many many days
would it take for A alone to complete his job
Okay we need to use algebra. I don't know how good your maths skills are so I'm just going to write down what to do, but if there's anything you don't understand, let me know.
A + B = 5
2A + 0.5B = 4
2A + 2B =10
2A + 0.5B = 4 (we subtract them)
1.5B = 6
divide by 1.5
B = 4
A + B = 5
A + 4 = 5
A = 1
So it would take A one day.
