Question
.  Given the slope of the line and a point on the line, find the equation for each line. (a)   A line of slope 4 passing through the point (0,2)  (b)   A line of slope -5 passing through the point (3,4) (c)   A line of slope 0 passing through the point (1,2)

Answer
I'll explain how to do it and do the first one.  You can practice on the other two.

(a) A line of slope 4 passing through the point (0,2)
Start with the slope intercept form (y = mx + b, where m is the slope) and fill in everything you have, which is y, x and slope

2=4(0)+b, now solve for b
2 = 0+b
b=2, so the eq of the line with slope 4 passing through point (0,2) is
y=4x+2

Here are the answers for the other 2 so you can check your work.

(b) A line of slope -5 passing through the point (3,4)
y = -5x + 19

(c) A line of slope 0 passing through the point (1,2)
y = 2 (y= 0x +2)
