Question
2x+y=3
x-y=3

Answer
2x+y=3
x-y=3

Solve one eq for a variable (ex 2x+y=3 to y = 3-2x).  Then substitute the value of y into the second eq.

x - (3-2x) = 3  solve for x
x - 3 + 2x = 3
3x = 6
x = 2

Insert the value of x into either eq to solve for y

2-y=3
y= -1
