Question
The mean(average)weight of 7 students is 72 pounds.
what is the mean weight of these 7 students and Margo, who weighs 64 pounds?    can you please explain how you got this answer if you can?

Answer
Hi. I can tell you how to work it out, yes.

If 7 students = 72 pounds, then that's 504 pounds altogether. Add the 64, whick makes 568 pounds.

Now, the weight of all 8 students is 568 pounds. To get the mean, we divide by 8, as then that's the average weight per student.

568 divided by 8 = 71. So, the mean with Margo in there is 71 pounds.
