Basic Math - percentages

Expert: John Zalewski - 5/13/2008

Question
i don't get how to do this at all so I'm going to ask you a couple of questions! 69 is what percent of 92? What percent of 140 is 105? What is 50% of 74?

Answer
Hello, Aaleah.

When it asks for percent, you need to divide. 69 is what percent of 92 is solved by dividing 92 into 69.

The same applies for figuring out what percentage of 140 is 105.

When it asks for a number, and gives the percentage, you need to multiply. 50% of 74 is solved by multiplying .5 and 74.

Try to work through the problems. If you need additional help I can try to assist.

Regards,
John
