Answer
I'm not sure how much help I can be without being able to draw a long division sign, but I'll try.  Can you multiply yet?  Division is just the opposite of multiplication.  5 times 2 = 10  10 divided by 2 = 5.  Do you see where all the numbers are the same?  Also, 10 divided by 5 =2.  With small numbers, you can usually do them in your head.  If you have larger numbers, say 225 divided by 5.  That is when you use long division and it looks something like this |-------  you put the number you're dividing, under the line and the divisor to the left of the slant.  As I said, it's not easy to explain in writing.  When you have larger numbers, you break it down.  Instead of saying, how many times does 5 go into 225, you start with, how many times does 5 go into just the first number.  Well, in this case, it's obvious that 5 doesn't go into 2 at all, so you add in the next number.  How many times does 5 go into 22.  5 goes into 22 4 times.  4 times 5 = 20.  You put 4 over the second 2, above the line.  To find the remainder, you put 20, under 22 and subtract.  That means, you have 2 left over.  We've already determined that 5 doesn't go into 2 at all, so you have to bring down the next number which is 5.  So, now the question is, how many times does 5 go into 25.  5 times 5 = 25, so you put 5 on the right side of the 4, above the line.  To make sure you're finished, subtract 25 from 25, which = 0, so you know that 5 goes into 225, 45 times and it goes in evenly with no remainders.

If you understand all this, let me know and I'll try and explain remainders.
