Question
the symbols < / > I'm confused on the direction meanings greater than less than.

Answer
This is the way I remember it... Look at the symbol, the point is less then the other side, right?  Or, the open side is greater than the point, right?  So, when you want to use the symbol, say what you want, for example, 6 is greater than 4.  So you want the "greater" side of the symbol towards the 6 or 6 > 4.  Inversly, 4 is less than 6 or 4 < 6.  Make sense?
