Question
find all real and imaginary roots of 2x^4+3x^3+7x^2-7x-5=0

Answer
Obvious solution
x = 1

Divide that out and you get:

2 x^3 + 5 x^2 + 12 x + 5

x = -.5

Divide that out and you get:

2x^2 + 4 x + 10

Use the quadratic formula

-1 + 2I

-1 - 2I

I don't have much time at this very second to give as many details as I normally would.  If you need more details in a hurry, please ask a different expert.  If you can wait a few days, I'll fill in more later.  Let me know.

And thanks for the question and happy New Year!
