Question
determine the slope intercept form of the linear equation if passes through (7,2) and is perpendicular to the line (a)x=7 and (b)y=6

Answer
a) x=7 is a vertical line which has no slope.  to be perpendicular, the line must be a horizontal line.  you're told the line passes through 7,2, therefore, you eq is y=2.

b) similar answer for this one.  y=6 is a horizontal line, so line perpendicular to that has to be vertical and passing through x = 7
