Question
a) 5 + 2(x + 1)    my answer 7x+7   book    7 + 2x



b) 3x + 4(2x − 1)   my answer 6x^2+5x-4   book      11x −4



c) 6a − 3(a + 2)     my answer 6a^2+9a-6   book     3a −6



d) x^2 − x(1 + x)     my answer x^3-x       book    −x

Are any of these right,if not,where am i going wrong? I've checked the chapters, and it corresponds with the page number and section.

It appears that you are treating the first section as if it were in parenthesis
