Question
how doi calculate the area in square meters of a triangle and a circle

Answer
Hello Faizel,

The area of a circle is given by pi*r^2, where pi has an approximate value of 3.141593 and r^2=r*r.

Example 1: if a circle has radius r=2, then, its area is A=pi*2*2 or 4 pi [squared units].
Example 2: if a circle has diameter d=6, then its area is A=pi*(d/2)^2 or 9 pi [squared units]. We have used the fact that the radius = diameter/2.

The formula for the area of a triangle can be calculated in a number of ways, depending on what we know. For a right angled triangle, it is given by A=0.5*height*width. See this page [http://www.regentsprep.org/Regents/mathb/5E1/areatriglesson.htm] for more detailed explanation.

Expertise

When I work through problems, I like to emphasize concepts which I believe are worth noting. I will try to answer questions in the following areas, but not at the advanced level. Algebra. Sequences & Series. Trigonometry. Functions & Graphs. Coordinate Geometry. Quadratic Polynomials. Exponential & Logarithms. Basic Calculus. Probability, Permutation and Combination. Mathematical Induction. Complex numbers. Physics problems.

Experience

I have worked as a teaching assistant in college. My hope is that more people will share knowledge without boundary, give help without seeking recognition or monetary rewards.
