Question
I cant remember how to do ratios.. i could use a quick review.. example: find the value of x 0.5:x::10:100 or find the value of x 1/8:7/8::1:x

Answer
Hello Michelle,

Ratios can be set-up as equations with fractions.
In general, if a:b::c:d ==> a/b=c/d

Thus, 0.5/x = 10/100...cross-multiplying gives: 10x=50 so x=5

and (1/8)/(7/8) = 1/x...cross-multiplying gives: (1/8)x=7/8
==> x/8 = 7/8, so x=7

OK?
