Question
Dear Lynn Houston,

I have been having a little trouble with finding the Y-Intercept Formula from the slope of two coordinates.

(Example)
Slope=G(-1,6)
     H(1,-6)
I know it equals 12/-2 but I don't know how to find the Y-Intercept of that.

Answer
if you have the slope and a coordinate of a point on a line, you can find the y intercept by inserting the points and slope into the slope intercept formula and solving for b.  y = mx + b where m = slope and b = y intercept.

Let's use the point (1, -6) and as you pointed out, the slope is -6 so
-6 = -6(1) + b now solve for b
b = 0
