Question
Reason: I was in my 7th grade class taking a test on inequalities. The class was about over, but then my teacher told us that quetion 2 is a COMPOUND inequality. I looked the word problem over and thought to myself, that cant be. Anyway, so I need someone's help.

Word Problem: a savings account has $4.50 or less.

Answer
Hi Kimberly

From what you have said, I think you already know the meaning of compound inequality. Just to recap, we basically have to consider 2 or more inequality conditions collated by the words "AND" or "OR".

In your question, we may use a compound inequality like "x<4.5 and x>0" to describe the situation. The part "x>0" assumes that the savings account is not empty.

Expertise

When I work through problems, I like to emphasize concepts which I believe are worth noting. I will try to answer questions in the following areas, but not at the advanced level. Algebra. Sequences & Series. Trigonometry. Functions & Graphs. Coordinate Geometry. Quadratic Polynomials. Exponential & Logarithms. Basic Calculus. Probability, Permutation and Combination. Mathematical Induction. Complex numbers. Physics problems.

Experience

I have worked as a teaching assistant in college. My hope is that more people will share knowledge without boundary, give help without seeking recognition or monetary rewards.
