Question
There are 2.54 cm in 1 inch.
There are 12 inches in 1 foot.
There are 3 feet in 1 yard.

1).Calculate the number of yards in 10 metres?
2).Calculate the number of metres in 10 yards?

Answer
10 meters * 100 cm/meter * 1/2.54 inch/cm * 1/12 foot/inch * 1/3 yd/foot
= 10 * 100/(2.54 * 12 * 3)  (m * cm/m * inch/cm * foot/inch * yd/foot)
= 1000/(2.54 *36)
= 10.94 yds

Using what we learned from above . . .

1 m = 1.094 yds
10 yd * (1/1.094 m/yds) = 0.91 meters

Unity analysis is very helpful for converting units.  Notice how all the units cancel out and leave you with the unit you need.
