Question
there are 13 players in a team who can expect a bonus of £437 between them. Of those players 11 have played 22 games , 1 has played 19 games and 1 has played 15 games, how do you share the sum in proportion to games played

Answer
Paul,

Multiply 'No of players' with 'No of Games' and let us call this multiplication as 'Total Games'

No of Players          No of Games    Total Games
      11                         22            242
      1                          19             19
      1                          15             15
-----------------------------------------------------------
                                               276

Total Games are 276. Now we have to distribute 437 among them.

So the shares are calculated as:

(242/276)*437 = 383.17
(19/276)*437 = 30
(15/276)*437 = 23.75

So, 383.17 to be distributed among 11 players who have played 22 games (34.83 per player)
30 to be given to 1 player who have played 19 games and
23.75 to be given to 1 player who have played 15 games.

I hope you understand this.

All the best.

Pawan
