Question
9 plus 24 divided by 4 multiplied by 2

Answer
Hi Alisha,

Your question is:

9 + 24 / 4 * 2

Always remember following rules which are called "Order of operations":

1. Calculations must be done from left to right.

2. Calculations in brackets (parenthesis) are done first. When you have more than one set of brackets, do the inner brackets first.

3. Exponents (or radicals) must be done next.

4. Multiply and divide in the order the operations occur.

5. Add and subtract in the order the operations occur.

In your case, rules 4 and 5 apply.

So, it becomes,

9 + 6 * 2 (Applying rule 4)
= 9 + 12 (Applying rule 4)
= 21 (Applying rule 5)

So answer comes out to be 24.

All the best.

Pawan
