Question
An employee is paid a salary of $300 per month and earns a 6 percent commission on all her sales. What must her annual sales be in order for her to have a gross annual salary of exactly of $21,600?

Answer
Shruti,

300*12months + 6% of how much she has sold = 21,600

The 300 dollars is her base pay. When they're talking about how much she sold, that's her commission. Add 'em up, and that's how much she made for the year.

12(300)+.06x=21,600

Can you solve for x now?
