Question
how to u change 42/16 into a mixed number. i am having a little trouble understanding the whole process

Answer
Hello, Denise.

First, divide 16 into 42. This gives you 2 with a remainder of 10. (2 x 16 = 32; 42 - 32 = 10.)

Next, make a fraction with the remainder as the numerator, and the divisor (16) as the denominator.

This gives you an answer of 2 10/16.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
John
