Question
Hi Chanda

I think I have a simple problem I just don't remember from my school days.
I'm currently getting paid $3391.00 per month which is 70% of my actual
wage.  I want to try and find my actual wage.  I would then like to convert that
to hourly based on 40 hours per week.

If you could help I would really appreciate it.  Thanks for your time.

chris

Answer
x is your actual wage
x * 0.7 = $3391
x = $4844.29

The number of hours in a week is straightforward, but the number of hours a month or year depends on the month and if you get leave time.  The standard way to do this is shown here:

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_working_hours_make_up_a_year

So your hourly wage is this without leave time:

4844.29* 12/ 2088 = $27.84 per hour

or

with leave time:

4844.29* 12/ 1928 = $30.15

Let me know if I can help further.

Chanda
