Question
hi,
why is a negative times a negative a positive?
thanks, Jemma

Answer
Well, if you were asking a parent, the answer would be, "Because!".  But, that's probably not what you want to know... There are several ways to explain it.  I found a site here that I liked the best  http://www.mathsisfun.com/multiplying-negatives.html  See if this site makes sense and if you need more explanation, let me know.
