Question
You need to choose between two telephone plans for local calls. Plan A charges $25 per month for unlimited calls. Plan B has a monthly fee of $13 with a charge of $0.06 per local call. How many local telephone calls in a month make Plan A the better deal?

Answer
let x = number of local calls per month, so Plan A = 25 and
Plan B  13 + .06x.  You want to know when

13+.06x > 25  subtract 13 from both sides
.06x > 12  divide by .06
x > 200

you would have to make more than 200 calls per month for Plan A to be a better plan
