Question
the area of a rectangular hallway is 120 square feet.if the lenth and width are both composite numbers, what are the possible dimensions of the hallway?

Answer
Are you sure you mean "composite" numbers and not "whole" numbers?

A composite number is a number that is NOT prime.

Anyhow, assuming composite is correct, then all we need are two
composite numbers whose product is 120.  So, we have
1 and 120, although this would be an odd sized hallway!
2 and 60 - no good, since 2 is prime
3 and 40 - no good, since 3 is prime
4 and 30
5 and 24 - no good, since 5 is prime
6 and 20
8 and 15
10 and 12, although this would be an odd sized hallway!
