Question
How do you multiply a whole and a decimal

Answer
The same as if there was no decimal.  The only thing you have to do differently, is count where the decimal is in order to put it in the answer.  Here's an example

  2.1
 x  4
=======
  8.4

when you multiply, you will get 84, but the first number has tenths (1 number after the decimal), so the answer will have tenths, so 8.4

Let's say there are 2 numbers after the decimal

 3.12
x    2
=======
 6.24

two numbers after the decimal in the first number, so 2 in the answer.

Make sense?
